Dr. Pallanti's Lecture - Treating Compulsivity with TMS: a clinician is needed
π Date: September 25, 2024
π Time: 11:45 AM - 12:15 AM (CET)
The 2024 edition of the ECNP β OCRN β ICOCS meeting featured the participation of numerous distinguished speakers, including Dr. Stefano Pallanti, who β as one of the world's leading experts on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder β delivered a lecture entitled ".Treating Compulsivity with TMS: a clinician is needed"
Dr. Pallanti's lecture took place on 25 September at 11:45 AM and represented a unique opportunity to delve into the latest discoveries on innovative and targeted therapies for the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders. Among these, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) represents an innovative technique that could revolutionize the treatment of these disorders, thanks to the very high level of treatment personalization it offers.
Dr. Pallanti is a pioneer in Neuromodulation Therapies: he has been using them since 2005 for the treatment of numerous neuropsychiatric disorders, including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and related disorders. During his lecture, Dr. Pallanti shared with the partecipants the results of the latest findings on the topic, bringing attention to the importance of personalized treatments for significant therapeutic outcomes!

Please note all posters at this meeting will be presented virtually as powerpoint slides. Please ensure your submitted poster is sized to fit on a powerpoint slide.
The College is also pleased to announce the Prof. H.G.M. Westenberg Travel Award, established in his memory thanks to a bequest entrusted to us by his family, for encouraging research in OCD. The award will be presented to the submitter of what is judged to be the best poster presentation at the meeting, in terms of scientific value and innovative methodology. The recipient of this award will be granted a EURO 300 stipend toward their travel to the next ICOCS annual meeting.
We will also be asking the top three poster authors to deliver a pre-recorded 5-minute oral presentation of their poster that will be played during the scientific program.
We will contact those selected to present a powerpoint poster and the three authors who have been selected to deliver a 5-minute pre-recorded short oral presentation prior to the meeting.

In-depth Resources
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
The different types of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) represent non-invasive and non-pharmacological therapies that use magnetic field to stimulate or inhibit specific brain areas, proving to be highly effective for the treatment of many disorders, including Resistant Depression and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
OCD and Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders
Dr. Pallanti is one of the leading experts on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in the world.
The Istituto di Neuroscienze integrates a variety of treatment methods that have proven successful in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders: Neuromodulation Therapies, Pharmacological Therapies, Psychotherapy and Natural Therapies.
