Cutting-edge treatment pathways

Patient Care

Dr. Pallanti's Istituto di Neuroscienze offers highly specialized and individualized therapeutic programs for the treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders, based on the latest scientific evidence and an integrated approach. We holistically integrate assessment and treatment methodologies from multiple professional areas in order to offer our patients cutting-edge and highly individualized care.

Our approach to care

For more than 30 years, Dr. Stefano Pallanti's Istituto di Neuroscienze has been offering advanced, evidence-based treatment plans.

Dr. Stefano Pallanti's Isituto di Neuroscienze is a private institute dedicated to the treatment of cognitive disorders, brain stimulation therapies (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation ― TMS ―, Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation ― tDCS ―, Photobiomodulation ― PBM ―, non-invasive Vagus Nerve Stimulation and Light therapy) and scientific research.

Since January 1989 ― the year the Institute opened ― Dr. Pallanti has been trying to apply the results of the most innovative scientific research to the treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders.

As we know, documented scientific data regarding the effectiveness of a new treatment takes about 17 years before Administrative Agencies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) include them in their guidelines (Harvard Business Review). This means that Dr. Pallanti's therapies are almost 20 years ahead of treatments generally offered by public health facilities.

Each person can experience a different response to any type of medicine or therapy. While the health care system is still stuck with guidelines and standardized treatments, Dr. Pallanti proposes a personalized approach that can overcome outdated guidelines that can be poorly tailored to the single person.

What we offer, then, are complex and highly specialized treatments: some of our treatments are not provided within our whole country except by our Institute.

Medicine is now making great progress, continually discovering new treatments for several diseases that until a short time ago seemed incurable. Unfortunately, we are still a long way from being able to guarantee significant improvements or the achievement of complete recovery for all, but Dr. Pallanti's goal is to offer the opportunity to try all therapeutic resources scientifically documented as effective.

The Day-Center of the Istituto di Neuroscienze

The Day-Center of the Istituto di Neuroscienze represents a holistic healing-oriented center. It uses an individualized treatment method to enable the earliest possible recovery from a disease through the use of a cutting-edge therapeutic approach.

It represents a center of excellence where new research is applied to treatment involving the integration of several therapeutic resources available.

Our Day-Center is for everyone, but especially for those who:

― Have already tried other treatments without success;

― Had to interrupt a medical treatment due to its side effects;

― Have medical issues that require a high level of monitoring;

― Are generally allergic or intolerant to treatment.

Our Day-Center integrates psychological assessments, cutting-edge research-based therapies, pharmacological therapy and clinical interviews with the patient and his or her family members (if required) to achieve highly calibrated and individualized care. This is a specific treatment method that can offer significant advantages ― even for severe forms of psychiatric disorders ― over more traditional outpatient treatment approaches and the more restrictive hospitalization model. In fact, our Institute's Day-Center allows for more structured and intensive treatment than the outpatient approach, but without including the restrictive and sometimes regressive aspects that are typical of an inpatient hospital program.

The Day-Center was created following two specific needs:

  1. Keep the suffering person in his or her social and family environment;

  2. To treat the person while maintaining the highest possible level of social activity, yet ensuring intensive therapeutic programs with daily specialized monitoring.

For patients suffering from a psychiatric disorder, the Day-Center of our Institute represents the best possible therapeutic environment. Inside of it, there can be implemented sophisticated assessment and diagnostic procedures, pharmacological and psychological cutting-edge programs, psychoeducational and supportive activities for patients and family members.
