Anxiety, Depression and other Affective Disorders continue to be a significant global mental health problem, but the mechanisms underlying them remain not fully understood. Affective neuroscience aims to shed light on these complex processes, opening the way for innovative and effective therapies.

The Summer School on Affective Neuroscience aimed to provide specialized training in the specialized field of affective neuroscience through two courses that were held through a combination of lectures and hands-on workshops:

  1. Fear, Anxiety, Obsessions and Trauma;

  2. Mood, Aggression and Attraction.

The 2023 edition of the Summer School on Affective Neuroscience featured several esteemed speakers, including Dr. Stefano Pallanti who, as a Member of Board of Directors of the International School on Affective Neuroscience, gave a lecture on the application of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in the treatment of Behavioral Addictions.

The course was accredited for the release of CMEs and, upon completion of both courses, participants received the European Certificate in Affective Neuroscience from the Maastricht University.
