Anxiety, Depression, and other Affective Disorders are the most prevalent mental disorders globally, yet the mechanisms underlying them remain partly unclear. Affective neuroscience aims to elucidate the brain mechanisms underlying affective disorders, promoting the improvement of existing therapies and the development of new innovative and effective treatments.

From July 1st to 5th, 2024, the University of Florence will host the 2024 edition of the Summer School on Affective Neuroscience, a unique opportunity for clinicians and young researchers to acquire specialized training in affective neuroscience. The course program includes two courses:

  1. Fear, Anxiety, Obsessions, and Trauma;

  2. Mood, Aggression, and Attraction.

The two courses aim to provide an extensive analysis of the latest advances in affective neuroscience, using a didactic approach that combines inspiring lectures with hands-on workshops.

The Summer Course is accredited for 28 CME credits. At the end of each course, participants will receive a certificate of attendance. Those who complete both courses will receive a European Certificate in Affective Neuroscience issued by the University of Maastricht.
