On March 14, 2024, the Swiss Society for ADHD held its General Meeting in Olten (Switzerland). The event aimed to provide an update regarding how to diagnose and treat Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) into adulthood.
ADHD is now considered a neurodevelopmental disorder characteristic of childhood, but also a "neurotypicality," or a peculiar way of functioning that can cause such dysfunctions and social problems that require treatment even in adulthood. Incorrectly, ADHD is considered to be a characteristic disorder of childhood/adolescent age only. However, it is now clear that ADHD persists throughout life beyond maturity and even in the elderly population.
This year's conference organized by the Swiss Society for ADHD featured renowned international experts who shared their knowledge and experience on the topic to provide an in-depth overview of ADHD and its implications in adulthood.
The event was not reserved exclusively for members of the Swiss Society for ADHD: anyone interested in learning more about the topic was invited to attend.
